Loop Villa

Wohnhaus

Picture a lush, verdant landscape marked by palm trees, orchards and gardens with a picturesque river flowing through them. A magnificent vista featuring mountaintops that stretch far to the horizon. The viewer’s eye is immediately captured by an out-of-the-ordinary structure reminiscent of an UFO mansion arising from the centre. Hadi Teherani Architects has designed the Loop Villa in synthesis with the native flora and topography, a miniature paradise that offers room for recreation, relaxation and much more. The site is situated in Kordan, a historical Iranian village off the beaten path about 50 km west of metropolitan Tehran. The draft for the villa was drawn up so that it architecturally underscores the incomparable view, enhances it and accentuates its qualities to maximum effect. This is readily evident in the numerous floor-to-ceiling windows that provide ample ambient light, and always with an opportunity to view all floors at a glance. The materials and nature itself act as the two main protagonists in the draft design: glass, steel, concrete and natural stone are used across large surfaces. Indoors and outdoors, louvre-like slats fronting the window surfaces diffuse the radiant sunshine and impart an ornamental element to the structure. This can be seen most prominently when facing the flat, broken loop that shapes the rooftop “rotunda”. As a result of rotated, flipped and cantilevered plateaus protruding broadly outwards, the villa’s individual levels seem to float in space, giving the design a dynamic, airy silhouette. In the interior this effect is further enhanced by futuristic lighting fixtures and structural details such as a luxurious open stairwell and open floor plans. Ensconced in greenery in all directions, this multifunctional space on several levels offers a BBQ grill, an open swimming pool and several individually designed zones to sit or relax in. The rooftop terrace with an unobstructed panoramic view is a special highlight: visualise a cinematic “immersion” into the lower-lying floors. The level below houses three master bedrooms and a private library with four sweeping balconies. Proceeding downward one finds a show kitchen, back kitchen, additional bedroom, TV and living rooms. A high-quality wooden terrace and an infinity pool with integrated invisible whirlpool are directly connected to the southern garden. The lower, so-called pillar floor provides space for an open living room/kitchen unit, including a bar, sauna and gym with access to the shallow pool basin inside the inner circular courtyard. On a property encompassing 750 square metres, the Loop Villa exemplifies elegant minimalism. And nestled into the sloping green area, an annex equally integrates itself ideally into its surroundings.
